BACKGROUND

Mainline, a leading name in the esports industry, approached the in house design team to revamp their visual identity for events and create a cohesive branding experience for their tournaments. The goal was to enhance their brand presence, engage participants, and elevate the overall viewer experience during engagement with the web platform and live streams.

BACKGROUND

  1. Outdated Event Branding
    The existing logos and brand elements felt outdated and did not resonate with the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of esports.

  2. Inconsistent Graphics
    Mainline
    struggled with inconsistent graphics across their events and social media platforms, leading to a lack of brand cohesion and recognition.

  3. Subpar Viewer Experience
    The absence of engaging live stream animations and overlays resulted in a subpar viewer experience during tournaments, affecting audience engagement and retention.

CHALLENGES

  1. Tournament Branding
    We developed a comprehensive set of branding materials, including logo variations, event banners, and promotional materials. The design elements were crafted to evoke excitement and anticipation, setting Mainline apart in the competitive esports landscape.

  2. Event and Social Media Graphics
    Creating visually compelling and consistent graphics for events and social media was crucial for maintaining a strong online presence. We designed graphics for various social media platforms, ensuring that each post effectively communicated the tournament's theme and schedule.

  3. Live Stream Animations
    To enhance the live stream experience, we crafted custom animations, overlays, and transitions. These elements were carefully designed to seamlessly integrate with the tournament branding, creating a visually immersive experience for viewers.

Design Process

  1. Research and Problem Identification
    Extensive research helped us identify the specific design challenges Mainline was facing, allowing us to tailor our solutions to address their unique needs.

  2. Concept Development
    Collaborating closely with Mainline, we developed design concepts aimed at resolving the identified issues. Concepts were crafted to modernize the brand and create a consistent visual language.

  3. Design Iterations and Problem Resolution
    Multiple design iterations were conducted, with a focus on addressing the identified problems. Client feedback played a crucial role in refining the designs and resolving issues.

  4. Finalization and Delivery
    The final design assets, including high-resolution images, vector files, and animated overlays, were delivered alongside guidelines for consistent brand application.

RESULTS

Conclusion: My collaboration with Mainline Esports successfully addressed the challenges they faced, resulting in a modernized brand identity and cohesive graphics. The project showcased my ability to identify and overcome design problems, providing Mainline with a strong visual presence in the competitive esports landscape.
